To ensure these outcomes are maintained in the future, ConvaTech has developed a recruitment strategy that incorporates these key factors.

Recruitment & Selection

OH&S is an important aspect in the recruitment and selection process of new employees. This forms the underpinning basis for a safety conscious workforce. The essential objective in the recruitment process is to employ personnel that not only can do the job, but also have appropriate safety behaviours, attitudes and values to perform and succeed in the given work environment. Therefore, in addition to the usual competency profiling, safety is an essential element of the job analysis, prior to advertising and selection.

Medical Examination

All selected candidates are required to undego a pre-employment medical examination, to ensure the suitability of the applicant for the position available. The Company Doctor at the Broadmeadow Medical Centre will conduct this examination. As part of the ConvaTech Drug and Alcohol Policy, a urine sample for the purpose of drug detection, will also be arranged. The urine sample will generally be undertaken at ConvaTech but may be undertaken as part of the medical examination. A candidate will not be excluded from the selection process on the basis of the results of the medical examination alone.
